The idea of a hybrid bike that is electric+petrol engine is very useful today. Every day petrol price is rising and it has been a major concern of citizen of India. That why I thaught to make a hybrid bike and I turned my petrol bike into electric + petrol engine bike that is hybrid bike. There are four type hybrid vehicles that are
⦁ Mild Hybrids
⦁ Full Hybrids
⦁ Plug –In-Hybrids
⦁ Range Extender Hybrids
I think my bike is range extender hybrid system.
Why Hybrid Bike Insted Electric :
Friends, we will discuss why there is so much demand for hybrid vehicle in the market. Currently, the biggest industry in the world is electric vehicles and with the new electric bicycles coming out, the old cars on the road are also being converted to electric or hybrid.People prefer hybrid conversion to electric conversion because the battery we install in electric vehicles has a certain limitation that can be driven within a certain range but in the case of hybrid conversion even if the battery charge is over, it is still possible to drive as long as you want through the engine. There is no certain limitation to driving
The specification and link of materials I have used:

⦁ 72v 35A , Li-ion battery pack
I made the lithium-ion battery pack I used in this project at home.To make this pack I used 2900mAh li-ion cell from Bak company.when I bought this cells, each cell cost was around 130 rupees and it cost me 35 thousand to make this complete battery pack.Life cycle and service of this cells is very good.I bought all this materials to make this battery pack from arbaccessories.in web site.

⦁ 72v ,2000w hub motor electric bike conversion kit.
Hub Motor: The main part of electric bike is hub motor aloy wheel it comes with 17” radious.
rated power 2000 watt and pick power 4000 watts.
The rated volt of the motor is 72v/60v.
900 rpm at 72v produces high torque.
High energy efficiency up to 92%.
325kg load capacity with the vehicle.
25* climbing capacity with 2 people.
top speed 70 km/h
I bought this kit from gogoa1.com
Controller: An important part of driving the motor is the controller , in this kit the controller is high efficient regenerative advance sign wave controller.A regenerative controller can charge the battery when you decelerate the motor by braking. This 72v 60A controller has three speed mode that are low, medium and high and it has reverse function also.
Throttle:
⦁ 63A MCB switch
⦁ 72v to 12v converter
⦁ 12v Relay (It is an electrical device of electromagnet, which is operated by a current or signal in one circuit to open or close another circuit)
Where you can get the material?
- You can get electric bike conversion Kit here —
https://gogoa1.com/products/gogoa1-17inch-2000w-brushless-hub-motor-drive-train-kit-for-r-d-oem-supply - I bought Li-Ion batteries from arbaccessories.in online.
The machines I have used:
- Bench drill machine
- Welding machine https://amzn.to/3ovkyTG
- Angle grinder https://amzn.to/3I9UbJo
- Spot welding machine,etc.

Why I installed hub motor in front wheel?
⦁ Breaking: As my wheel motor was disc brake system and my bike rare wheel was drum brake system so if I installed the wheel motor in rare then there was a problem with breaking system. So I decided to install in front .
⦁ Looking: The wheel motor that I installed was very thin compaired to the rare wheel so if I change my bike rare wheel with that wheel motor I think it looked very bad.

Milage and speed of my Bike:
Now we will discuss the practical and theoretical mileage and speed of this bike. The battery pack we used here is 72 volt 35A pack, that is, the wattage of this battery pack is 72 times 35, that is, 2520 watts. Now the wattage of the motor we used is 2000. If I divide 2520 by 2000 then I get 1.26 Now assuming the bike runs at 50 kmph consuming 2000 watts then our theoretical mileage is 1.26 times 50 which is 63 km per charge.
Now come to the practical mileage I got roughly. When I ride, my bike has a top speed of 45 to 50. At this speed, I get a mileage of 65 to 70 km per charge. I would like to say one more thing that in the case of electric bike conversion, both the speed and mileage depend on the bike’s own weight. For example, my bike Avenger 220 weighs 100 kg and the total weight of this bike with battery and motor is 150 kg. If the weight of the bike was 70 kg then the mileage and speed would be more.
Now I will discuss about the top speed I got on this hybrid bike. I got a top speed of 65 km per hour driving alone. In this case I want to mention one thing that before this hybrid bike conversion I converted Pulsar 150 electrically in which case I got top speed of 70 km per hour. In this case, I got more mileage because I left out the engine of this bike, in that case the weight of the bike was reduced a lot.
How much money will be saved per year?
To calculate how much money will be saved every year, we have to make some approximations like suppose your bike runs on an average of 50 kilometers per day and the fuel mileage of your bike is 50 kilometers, then if you calculate it, you need 1 liter of petrol per day, then it will take 30 liters per month. If I take petrol price as 100 rupees per liter. then your monthly expenditure for petrol is 30100=3000 rupees then annual expenditure is 300012=36000 rupees. Now assume that the battery will give a life service of four years, the cost of making the battery is 36000, then the cost of the battery is 9000 rupees for one year. Now suppose the lifetime of the motor kit that we installed is 12 years and the price of the kit is 36000 rupees, then the cost of the motor kit is 3000 rupees per year, then the cost of the hybrid conversion is 3000 + 9000 per year, i.e. 12000 rupees. So your annual savings becomes 36000 -12000 equals 24000.
