Nowadays fat wheeled bicycles are very attractive to people. So I thought that I will make an electric bike with fat wheel bicycle. After buying the bike, I saw that it was very difficult to ride it by pedaling, so it would have been difficult to ride it without a motor. Since the bike was fat wheeled and heavy, I thought the bike could be fitted with a powerful high speed hub motor, in which case it would not be difficult to balance the bike even at high speeds. So let’s discuss what the bike is made of and how.
What are the materials I have used?
18ah 48 Volt Lithium phospet Battery Pack:

This battery is homemade. To make it I used lithium phosphate battery cells with 3.2 v and 6 amp each cell. This pack consists of 16 series and each series has three cells, making a 3x 6 = 18 Ah and 48 volt Li-Po4 battery pack. The BMS used in it is 16s, 30 amps. Lithium phosphate batteries have advantages and disadvantages such as lithium battery lifetime is longer but the disadvantage is that the cells become imbalanced if each cell is not identical.I bought the cell and bms from arbaccessories.in

Controller:
An important part for driving the motor is the controller , in this kit the controller is high efficient sign wave controller. The controller is 36/48v and 350w.This 48v, 16A controller has three speed mode that are low,medium and high and it has no reverse function.
Throttle:
The throttle that comes with the electric bike conversion kit depends on the seller, many sellers offer a simple throttle and many offer a throttle with a key and battery level indicator.
The throttle that came with my conversion kit was a normal throttle. Other things that came with it were pedal assist, brakes, headlight with key and spoke.
Installetion of the kit

The hub motor I used in the electric bike was mounted on the front wheel. The reason for mounting it on the front wheel was because the gear sprocket was fit on the rear wheel, if I mounted the hub motor on the rear wheel, the gear sprocket would have to be opened. So I decided to fit it on the front wheel.
If you want to fit the hub motor, you have to remove the spokes of the wheel that you are going to fit, then you have to fit the hub motor with a short length spoke because the diameter of the hub motor is bigger than the axle that was nstalled.Sometimes the seller ships spokes with this kit.

Now I cut the iron seat and made a box in the shape of the battery to fit the battery. Another box was needed to keep the controller, this box I used the box that is the electric board. Then I fit the battery box inside the bicycle and I attached the controller box to the upper rod of the bicycle. Then I set the charging port in this controller box to charge the battery, when the boxes were installed, I made the connection properly and the electric fat bike was ready to run.
Speed and Mileage:

I got practically the same speed as the high speed mentioned in the conversion kit I used.
I found its top speed to be 48 km/h but one thing to remember is that driving at top speed for a long time can put a strain on the battery and motor.

The mileage of electric bike or electric scooter always depends on these four factors: battery, motor efficiency, load and speed. The battery I used is 18 ampere 48 volt and got a mileage of 50 km per charge. I told mileage depends on the speed at which you ride the bike. I got this mileage by riding the bike at a speed of about 35 to 40 kmph. If you ride the bike at a constant speed of 50 km per hour, but you will not get this mileage, the mileage will decrease.
Note:
The maximum speed of this bike is 48 km per hour, if the speed is more than 35 km per hour, permission from the RTO is required. If you want to ride a bike at a speed higher than 35 km per hour, then you must get permission from the RTO and must wear a helmet while riding.

Total Cost:
The cost to build this fat bike is discussed below.16000 rupees was spent to buy the fat bike. I bought the electric bike conversion kit for 8000 rupees. 9000 rupees were spent to make the lithium phosphate battery pack. If a normal bicycle was used instead of a fat bike, the cost would have been reduced by about 8000 rupees.
