We depend on machines in every step of our daily life. We take the help of machines to do all kinds of work. Many appliances have even entered the kitchen. All those machines make cooking or chopping vegetables much easier. Today I will discuss one such machine, which is Cabbage Slicer Machine. Cabbage can be cut very nicely with this machine. Sometimes it is necessary to cut many cabbages, in this case, this machine is very useful. Many times, cooks get into trouble while slicing the cabbages with a normal cutter. Materials That I Have to Use to Make It: The

Wooden Sheet:
This cabbage slicer machine will be made based on a wooden structure. This will require wooden planks. I have used Mahogany wood here because its color and gleys comes very beautiful and this Mahogany wood is very strong. You can also use other strong wood if you want.
Blade of Utility Knife:
A blade will be needed for cutting cabbage. Which will be fitted on the wooden structure. I used a three-inch long utility knife blade here. If the blade is strong, the cabbage will cut well. These blades can be found in local markets and online. You should try to install such a blade so that it does not rust easily.
Steel Plate:
A steel plate was needed to fit the blade properly. That will hold the blade strongly. For this, I cut one side of a rectangular steel pipe to get the plate.
Steel Pipe:
To cut the cabbage through this machine, the cabbage must be rotated with respect to an axle. To make this axle I used a steel rod, which is 11 inches long. The axle has to be rotated inside another pipe, for that I used a steel pipe. This pipe is 4 inches long.
Nut & Screw:
A few screws are needed to fit the blade and a nut is needed to rotate the handle.
Clear Resin Spray:
As the cabbage slicer is made of wood and the wood looks very nice when polished. That’s why I polished the cabbage slicer with clear resin. This resin comes as a color spray can. How to Make:
First I cut two wooden planks with a miter saw, one 9 inches long and 8 inches wide, the other 10 inches long and 9 inches wide. After that, I cut one side of the plank into a round shape with a jig saw to make it beautiful. A hole is drilled in the center of this rounded wood with a bench drill. Then I made a rectangular hole with a wood router, through which the slice of cabbage will fall down. Cut a 7-inch long piece of wood to make the stand. Cut a 9-inch long steel rod for the axel. Then cut a circular disc of wood of 3-inch diameter. We made the axel by fitting the rod to this disc. When all the wood is cut, and sanded with a grinder. After that, we made the structure by fitting the pieces of wood in specific places with wood glue. I fit the blade beside the rectangular hole. While cutting cabbage it is necessary to rotate it with an axel. So that it can rotate properly, I fitted 5 pins on the round wooden disc which connected to the axel. This pin will be exposed to the cabbage. As a result, if the axel rotates, the cabbage also rotates with it. After making the Cabbage slicer, we polished it with clear resin.
Usage & Advantage of The Machine:
There are different types of cabbage slicers available in the market, but they are a bit expensive. The machine I have made is very cheap and easy to make at home. The materials needed to make it can be easily procured at a low cost. Since it is made of wood, it is eco-friendly and traditional. It can easily slice the cabbage in a short time.
